Deal with China Partner

After graduating, I spent eight months working in the U.S. before moving to Asia to help grow our business in the region, with a particular focus on China and the rising opportunities across Southeast Asia. I’m now based in Penang, Malaysia, and travel frequently throughout the region.

Early Years

I moved to China when I was three and went to Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten in Shanghai, where I was the only foreigner in the Chinese division. Then went on the be the first student to enrol in the YKPao school. That early immersion sparked a love for language and an interest in China that’s stayed with me ever since. When I moved to San Francisco, while playing almost every sport imaginable, I made sure to keep up my Chinese.

In high school, I captained the soccer and lacrosse teams, played football, led backcountry expeditions for younger students, and joined the band as a tuba player. At Vassar College, I double-majored in Science, Technology and Society and Chinese, minored in Economics, and continued playing lacrosse. During my junior year, I studied abroad at National Taiwan University and Tsinghua University in Beijing.
